This is the only way I've found to play [Firehawk Patch OPL4] on Moonsound without making changes to the harware in the Moonsound.

In addition, with this method, all music OPLL compatible [MSX-AUDIO Bios 1.3] will be played on the OPL in [Music Module] + OPL4 in [MoonSound] + PSG on [MSX] simultaneously. All voices simultaneous.

It's cool no? lol

so (just to be 100% sure) you programmed "msxaudio13.OPL3_stereo.rom" into an eprom and put that one in?

Yes....

I have make also some tests with the [Msx-Audio Bios 1.3 NMS1205] in the music module.
The result is different because the MoonSound not playing music. This is normal Wink

Yes Igal did it and it works to. Smile
I have tried it also, but i must say the Music Module sounds better than the Moonsound, but it's a nice way to play the music.

The sound of MoonSound only:

(For me it is better than the Music Module)

The sound of Music Module and Moonsound in same time: (The best result)

Sound wise I do not hear that much difference between musmod and op4... The only thing on the moonsound which bothers me is the hard panning in the drums. Some stereo is nice though, just not the drums please Wink

If you're setting both the Music Module and the Moonsound to use the I/O port C0h at the same time, be warned that this may damage both cartridges when the chips are read by the CPU. After some time doing this, the chips will just fry.

I'd recommend sticking with the standard configuration: use the Music Module with the BIOS file specifically designed for it, and don't connect both cartridges at the same time.

@OeiOeiVogeltje

The BIOS has nothing to do with this. If both devices are set to the same I/O port, you cannot use them on the same MSX without risking on frying the chips when they are read by the CPU. Regardless if a slot expander is being used or not.
