Hi,

If i download some mod files from the internet and try to play them on my moonsound it's not working.
I use the play tool MPCOM8.COM under DOS2.
If i try to play a MOD file using the util, it's unpacking the MOD module but at some point it is giving a CRC error.
I did this with 10 different MOD files. Is this because those mod files i use are not supported ?
And if so... how can i see if a MOD file is supported ? Maybe someone has already a free collection of MOD files that are playable on the MSX ?

I love to try this player Wink Hope someone could help me !

Many THanks! Murdoch

I have no experience with the software, but what size are those mod files?

If I remember correctly I used NOP's MOD player for MoonSound V1.0 with great success. It plays pretty much every MOD file that fits in the Moonsound sample RAM.

Indeed, nop modplayer plays allmost every standard modfile, no s3m, xm or other mods(more than 4 channel). Wasn't mpcom8.com not for tr?

There's a slight chance that the modules are compressed with PowerPacker, thus rendering them unusable (even though I doubt it).

There is no CRC error checking in a ProTracker MOD file.
