Can anyone tell me if the music played in the PC version is the same as the MSX with an MT32 attached?
Here is the music from the PC version for comparison:

These are some of the finest MT32 compositions I've heard so far...

They're the same compositions, but quite different arrangements...
Can't really say I like them when I compare them to the MSX Music versions...

Edit: from memory I can't really place all of them around the second halve of the clip... Maybe a memory flaw of mine Wink Most I do remember though...

BTW, Fire Hawk on MSX has this music mode as well, so you can listen yourself Wink

How do I hook up my MT32 to the MSX? Question

This game does not support MIDI. Just a few games do. Mostly they need a turbo R GT which has a built in midi interface. Some of those games are Illusion City and (only the intro of) Xak the tower of Gazzel.
Familcle Parodic II also supports MIDI. Not sure if this one needs a turbo R GT. Bit2 (the publisher of the game) has made two MIDI interfaces as well (one to make the turbo R ST equal to the GT, and another one).
Then there's Moonlight Saga, which requires a turbo R GT as well...
There are quite a handfull of MIDI interfaces (maybe even more than games that support MIDI at all), and most of them are incompatible with each other.

Famicle Parodic 2 needs the MIDI Saurus cartridge to play music through MIDI.

As there are a few midi solutions available (although difficult to get hold of these days), I think I'll go for the Midi PAC as this should work on a lot more games overall.

Will the Midi PAC work on Famicle Parodic 2, Illusion City etc?

Midi-pac should work with any game that supports msx-music. It's basically a on-the-fly converter of msx-music to midi data.
