It could be. But most of the times, the problem is related to dirty slot contacts or missing/faulty signals (i.e.: slot clock signal)

Try dissabling the RAM in the cartridge (hold cursor UP while booting to enter recovery menu) and press N key. Then ESC.
Check if it freezes in the same way.

I have a few questions regarding mounting of multiple disk images through MM.

Can multiple disk files not complying with the .fd1, .fd2 etc, be assigned a position from 1-9?

Ie. let's say I have the following images:
Batman disk 1 of 3.dsk
Batman disk 2 of 3.dsk
Batman disk 3 of 3.dsk
Can I somehow select a single file at a time, or multiple all at once, and assign them disk position 1,2,3?

Using latest firmware, 1 slot card model without ram expansion.

.fd1, fd2, etc works fine, but I'd hate to manually rename all my disk images.

Idea: It would be nice if I could highlight a file in MM, and push something like control+3 a to assign a disk to slot 3.

---

Second question: If I dont hold down control during boot, my 128kb MSX hangs just before launching MM. It is not a huge problem, I was just woring why. I have a physical disk drive connected, is there a relation?

---

Third question: After disk selection, reboot and execution of .dsk game. Can I use save disks if they are pre-assigned to a slot? Example. SD Snatcher has a user-disk, which I assigned to slot 5, but I wasn't able to save to it. Perhaps disk emulation is read-only? And if so, can I save to a real physical disk on the physical floppy drive?

---

PS. Awesome product. Smile

1) I have never mounted as I never updated my kernel to a later version. I do use opfxsd to flash. Using that it is possible to flash to a slot.
2) There's a relation indeed as the ctrl button disconnects the second disk drive and makes you have a little more ram available. Holding shift will disconnect both disk drives.
3) Never tried. But there's a way to use a physical disk drive.

1- There are two ways of loading a DSK:
- Using the old method OPFXSD file.dsk /Dx, that works in read-only mode and needs to flash the DSK to the cartridge.
- Using the native support of Nextor, that access (R/W) the DSKs directly from the SD card.

Using the old method you can load a DSKs to any slot. I.e.: OPFXSD BATMAN1.DSK /D7
Just be sure that at least there is a DSK in slot 1.

Using the new method (default in new/updated cartridges) you can select a list and the order of DSKs to load. I.e.:
EMUFILE BATMAN3.DSK BATMAN2.DSK PENGUIN.DSK BATMAN1.DSK

3- You can use save disks when using the new method. The DSKs are writable.
Using the old method you must select the real disk drive (pressing 0 zero)

"Select a list":

So how do I go about this? I highligt a few diskimages in MM and press return? Or do I push something else, once highlighted? Or something else? Or do I just type it from the command-line?

Thanks for the replies.

You have to type it from command line.

Thanks! Can you open a command prompt from with-in Multimente, or do I have to quit to get to it? (I'm a newbie)
