Can you test again the yet even newer version? We fixed several other bugs and you seem to be an intensive user, so you're very good to test Smile

Okay, the bug with the diskimage is fixed. As far as I can tell everythings works like supposed to. One thing, after a fresh install catapult could not find the philips music module extension. I had to manually make the directory "Music-Module" and place the rom in it. (in older versions this directory was called "Philips_NMS_1205".

What are your Catapult settings (in Edit Configuration)? Where is your openMSX installation?

All system ROMs should be put in share/systemroms. Current openMSX still has the same extension Philips_NMS_1205.
openMSX 0.10.0 doesn't work with directories anymore for extensions. Perhaps you have an older installation mixed with a newer?

Maybe an idea for catapult,
Moving Buttons Power, Reset, Pause, Firmware (Misc controls on second tab)
to the first tab under the casette playen options.

what does the Firmware button do anyway?

Okay, if we are are talking about wishes, it would be nice to have controls to select a harddisk image or cd-image (just like you select a diskette or cassette image).
I could be mistaken, but catapult doesn't seem to have those and when you select ide, it will always look for hd.dsk in the persistent\ide\untitled1 directory.

Sorry guys, but we only do maintenance on Catapult, we're not going to implement (large) new features. Perhaps only some small things (like enabling cartridge buttons at run time, which is now implemented).
Harddisk *may* be easy to add, I'll see about that.

@AxelF: if we add harddisk stuff, there won't be much room left there... The firmware button enables or disables the built in firmware. Many MSX computers have such a button on the machine, e.g. the turboR has it near the reset button.

What we're really going to do coming years, is work towards a normal integrated GUI. It may take a long time, but the plans to work towards that are there. In the mean time, we do some small work on Catapult (as explained above) and some (limited) work on the built in OSD menu. Main effort should be on working towards that GUI stuff.

We rewrote most of the Session tab code, so if you're still interested in testing, please download the latest development build and try out everything there (especially cartridges (which can now also be set at run time), IPS patches, disks, cassette stuf, ROM types, etc.).

I'd be very happy to hear your feedback!

PS: theKid: coming to Nijmegen?

I installed the new version and found a couple of things :

1) I start a machine with the IDE interface with a hdd image. I now insert a scc cartridge in both slots. When I type "DIR" my harddisc image has become unreachable. Emptying both slots doesn't give me the ide interface back. I have to restart.

2) Same goes when I start a demo that uses Music Module, I then insert 2 scc carts in both slots, the music moudle is disabled (or overruled). Emptying both slots doens't resolve this, music module stays unrecognized.

I guess since you can now actively change carts when the msx is powered on, you can do this you could normally don't, like starting a machine with a moonsound and graphics 9000 in both slots, and then insert a scc aswell.

I tried a scc demo and put the scc in and out and this reacts perfect, after a few seconds the scc is in the slot, the sound comes back. So maybe this could be done for the carts you insert when starting the machine.

I guess it will be best the option of changing carts is blocked when you allready have both slots occupied.

3) I often make screenshots and normally a message appeared in the screen. at first I thought the screencapture didn't work, but later on I found it in the status. Was this changed on purpose ?

bytheway, my msx fair days are over...
