Hi there,

Yesterday I came accros a game I've played a lot, hunchback. I could still remember the intro tune after all these years Smile
When I tried to play the game with openmsx, it wouldn't go past the intro screen. I've tried every button. Then I tried other diskimages and finally when I tried the game on my real msx, the game had the same behavior. Turns out, this game is joystick control only.
Since I don't have the knowledge of editing this game and alter it's controls, my question is, does anyone know if there is some kind of setting or script I can use with openmsx so it will let me play this game (and surely there are more), with keyboard. Or does there excist a tool that I can run prior before loading this game, so it can be controled by keyboard?

Many thanks,
The Kid.

Plug in "keyjoystick1" in joyporta and you can use the keyboard instead of a real joystick for the MSX joystick.

See http://openmsx.sourceforge.net/manual/user.html#joystick

Well, you know the openMSX reverse functionality?

Try it....play the game and hit page up when you make a mistake.

But that is no fun. The fun is in overcoming your mistakes. Smile
(ofcourse everyone must decide for themselves and the reverse function is awesome)

@John: in this particular video, the purpose was to find out what the very shortest time would be to complete the game. That was quite fun, for me Smile It's just another dimension to the game, made possible with emulation.

I understand how that's fun, Manuel. Smile And watching a game being 'dissected' like that can actually be interesting and educational for developers. But you know what I was aiming at, right?
