I only have a MSX2: the Philips 8250.
I use it to play and test my programs.
MSX2 is my favorite generation both to play and create game. Smile

That said, I would like to buy a MSX1 (probably a Canon V20) as I program mostly on MSX1 recently.

Then, one day, I would like to buy a MSX2+ and a Turbo-R to have a computer of each generation.

I have:
- Mitsubishi ML-FX1
- Panasonic FS-A1 mkII
- Sony HB-F1XV
- Panasonic FS-A1 GT

I like to have one physical computer from each generation for testing. Except for the MSX1, those are the models I find have the best industrial design. The Mitsubishi is just the one I could find in Markplaats when I needed it. I actually would like to have a Sony Hit-Bit 55.

Overall, I think my favorite is the F1XV, but is somewhat slow for some of the things I do; so most of the time I use the TurboR only.

I have :
- Daewoo DPC-200 : my first MSX, bought new in 1985. It's more nostalgia than anything practical.
- Sony HB-F9P : I wanted a simple and original european MSX2. It's my main "go-to" physical MSX.
- Yamaha CX5M : I always wanted this one for the musical capabilities

At a time, I wanted an MSX of each generation. That's why I had a Panasonic FS-A1 WX, which was actually the first MSX I bought when I got by in the MSX hobby in the mid 2000's. Since then, I sold it. And with each year, the Turbo-R gets more and more expensive, and out of my reach.

  • Panasonic FSA1-ST (MSX turbo R)
  • Zemmix Neo (FPGA)
  • 1ChipMSX (FPGA)

Why? I love the system, I wanted to have at least 1 model of every step in the MSX family (MSX, MSX2, MSX2+, MSXtr, FPGAs).

Very interesting topic to show how we evolved over time. 6 years ago this was my answer, today my collection is very different:

  • Zemmix Neo (FPGA)
  • Mistica FPGA16 (FPGA)
  • Retropie CRT (RPi 15khz CRT emulator)

I feel quite confortable using any of them as MSX, specially FPGAs.

In all I have had previously SVI-728, SVI-738 (msx 2+ mod), and Turbo-R ST. Now I have only VG-8235 MSX2 with carnivore2 & OPL4 which I think is a great combination.
Probably will get SVI-738 again when found one.
