Been trying all sorts of configurations and keep getting the same message no matter what.

Probably the DSK file is wrongly DOS1-formatted. Use Disk Manager to extract all the files, then create with the same tool a DOS2-formatted DSK file and put the files on this DSK.

Explanation : Turbo-R games use generally the special MSX-DOS2 Memory Disk, that is only enabled if a DOS2-formatted disk is used. Most Turbo-R games have been wrongly dumped by putting the files of the games on a DOS1-formatted disk.

MSX-DOS2 files are not required, but I was speaking about the MSX-DOS2 Memory Disk, that is available when you boot the Turbo-R in R800 mode, what can be made by 2 ways when booting;

- a DOS2-formatted disk inserted in drive A (my suggestion)
- nothing in drive A (Guillian's suggestion), then insert the DOS1-formatted disk and type RUN"AUTOEXEC.BAS"

My suggestion has the advantage that the AUTOEXEC.BAS works as it should work, without being 'forced' to enter the command. I still don't understand why all these bad dumped turbo-R games have not yet been fixed in the Tosec packages.

I tried with a DOS2 formatted disk, but the game didn't boot at all, won't I need to create an autoexec.bat to start basic and running autoexec.bas for that to work as well? From what you wrote seems you mean it would start automatically without it?
Or perhaps I'm just doing something wrong.

I'm aware of that problem and I fixed a bunch of disks myself already, but they were all DOS games never did anything like this with a BASIC game as I always thought it wasn't needed.

@Jipe, Ctrl won't make a difference, but guillian suggestion works fine.

@ssj: An "easy" way for fixing the game is to copy the first 512 bytes from a MSX-DOS2 formated DSK into the game DSK.
You can do it using an HEX editor (HxD, UltraEdit, etc.)
In that way the game will automatically boot fine.
