Still counting, but I come to an end now.
I know, you know me as an hard and righteous executor. As it is hard to judge without timestamp, I will once, only, be kind and merciful and let all correct answers shine. But: For the first ten minutes, ren was alone at home, so the glamour belongs to him!
Let´s see:
1: One is right. Teachers Terror thing. Grauw +16 points
2: 9 Meits +16 points
3: Meits this is awesome counting. I also got 25. 16+16 bonus points
4: I thought nine, but could only confirm eight now. Meits +16 points
5: All my Moonblaster came on 3M, but there are only 4 labels visible. Meits +16 points
6: Meits gota catch them all: +16 points
7: I feel I have to apologize for this. This was the only coders from Stuttgart that time, they were selfish, arrogant and absolute genius in hacking (other peoples abilities). Sorry. 16 points for ren and Meits for beeing hurt with those games.
8: Both are right: but ren gets +16 points
9: this time ren got the right text c&p first, let´s do ren 16 points
10: Also both of you got all main characters, they might have changed over the years, but... ren got MiChi and was first +16 points
11: ren +16 points
12:Graw Meits +16 Hard to decide who´s first…
13:As I asked for FCS the wiki would be right, didn´t know about first steps, but I´m lucky to learn something new.
ren Graw Meits +16
14: Asked for the demo in screen1, Maybe I let this open for a special or late quest.
15:Grauw did it, of course right. 30.
16: I count 30, but correct me if I´m wrong. There was indeed more Stitching disks, but not all are visible.

5th: hamlet: 38 Points / going to win his own prizes: no shipping costs!

Thanks Hamlet (for the time bonus(?) as well Wink) here's my feedback:

According to your explanation I'm awarded 16 pts for: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 13. 6x total (=96pts). But:

10: "Each person 16 points." I got awarded 16 points, but did mention more peeps (so did Meits, but later). How many did you have in mind, the 3 people mentioned in the source release .txt file? Leave it up to you what to do with it Wink

12: I didn't get this right, Grauw (who posted it first) and Meits did;

15: You say it's 30 chars, and awarded 16pts to Grauw, but his answer: "28 characters, 18 distinct"
My answer (posted around 8pm): "31 chars (but it's about he whole program or not? Don't know shit about MSX programming, forgot BASIC.. the newlines could be +2 chars as well?)"
Meits answer (I believe appeared together with most of his other answers): "31 visible ASCII characters counted."

(Note my confusion, try to phrase your questions/quests as unambiguously as possible Wink)

16: You say 30, but no points awarded, but I did answer this (page 32) Wink

Thanks, see you tomorrow. JH only allowed if he goes through a tough puzzle/counting quest first (like we all had to do Wink)

And from now on (@ contestants): don't edit your posts when who's first matters. If necessary post something anew (I'm all serial about this you know.. Hannibal )

With 28 I did not count white space or the answer would’ve been 1920. But the real question is, how many ASCII characters are needed to write that text, and the answer is 18 (ABCDGHILMNOPRSTUW!).

Either way,

reading is quite an art... I'm at lesson 3 now... I won't trick myself into answering in bulk again, fill the post when i find out there are more answers and, ah well, you know the drill...

But music...

/me likes notes... loads...

@Grauw: yeah I know, perhaps I'm taking this too seriously. (Which is in contrast with my first intent to simply throw it today Tongue) I did get awarded a nice time bonus of course Wink

But all of the sudden Meits is getting dangerously close with 10 x 16pts awarded.. And I did fight for my points Wink (So did Meits I reckon Wink)
But we're just beginning, these points are still peanuts of course Wink
(Not sure if I can keep up my winning streak though, when it comes down to it I'm sure I'll get a hard time competing against the more hardcore MSX freaks Wink)

Just reporting back to (and in the meantime confiding in (the judgement of)) the quiz master Murdoch

Hahaha yeah well I edited my previous post with a nice Hemingway quote which I think applies Smile.

I’m having a lot of fun with hamlet’s quizzes, even though I’m pretty bad at most that passed the revue so far (err Engrish), it’s nice to get some points in. And who knows, maybe I’ll be the only one to answer the day 23 question correctly! Or maybe me and Louthrax, and then he’ll win by a 1-point difference.

p.s. Props to Meits for your ginourmous list. For sure I couldn’t produce that, I recall a bunch of them from long ago but which demos they were exactly… When did you start on that, just this evening or did you prep it the whole afternoon?
