hi everyone! i think i heard about symbos since when it was firstly released here, but since then i always struggled a lot installing and running it (perhaps because it runs on msxdos2? i struggle a lot on it too! Big smile ), so i still have no idea what is symbos about, beyond seeing screenshots and videos at youtube

where from can we download a preinstalled symbos hd image for running on openmsx? or can someone here create and share one? this would be really great, and thanks a lot in advance!

Have a look over here:

https://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=symbos

Here you can play around with a working SymbOS install. By clicking on the HDD icon on the bottom left you can download the HDD image. Just select "save image file"

Hello!

I tested the HD image in openMSX with the machine Panasonic FS-A1GT and IDE extension, but the Symbos don't start, and the MSX shows the following messages:
"MSX-DOS version 1.8
Copyright 1986 by Microsoft

COMMAND version 1.12

A>cd symbos
Bad command or file name
A>sym
Bad command or file name"
A>
It is necessary some specific extension or configuration to run this HD image on emulator?

Thanks

That image is specific for WebMSX, I think...
