I had lots of fun with a nephew of 5 playing el motorista sideral
It is educational and fun aswell.
And my nice of 8 can't get enough of penguin adventure and yes I would recommend a joystick :)
And since pengui adventure can be played online, she can now brutalize her fathers pc keyboard :)

We just tried el motorista sideral. No rush, no enemies, nobody dies, no need to restart from the beginning... I tried it with the younger but it was the elder who had fun.

We were playing battle mode. Everything was ok until we decided to play with obstacles. They appeared really close to player 1 initial position in each battle. Sometimes even in the same initial lane. My daugther had no time to react. She remembered me how upset I used to get when I was a child and didn’t win in arcade games...

Aww, how cute... just have to help... Here is how to pimp your ride: Change offset: #26E9=4, #26F1=4 and with blue car you go.

What might be a nice game for kids aswell is Rotors
