How to run "North Sea Helicopter" with an SD Mapper ?

I have a prototype of a single handed controller for North Sea Helicopter but I am stuck trying to run the game from SD Mapper.
I have managed to get the Disk version, that is composed of a tiny basic program that loads 3 blocks of code, but before the game can be completely loaded there is an error message that is not possible to read because the charaterset is corrupted.
I have looked for a ROM version of the game but so far I haven't succeeded to find it anywhere.

Any Ideas?

I have a .dsk image which has a "poke -1, 170" line in the basic loader, maybe you need to fix that?

That poke is supposed to be for machines with RAM in slot 3-2, check this Wiki article:

I don't know if it is true, But I once heared that poke -1,170 isn't the same as poke &HFFFF,&HAA on some machines. So I guess, it can't hurt to try.

if you remove poke -1,170 and replace it with POKE -1,(15-PEEK(-1)\16)*17 at least that part is sorted out.
There are (at least) three poke -1,x versions. Using the wrong one will reset the computer. This poke is intelligent and finds out which the correct version for your computer is.

It is a SHARP Hotbit HB8000, MSX 1 With 64k RAM.

The POKE -1, 170 doesn't hurt if there's no subslots involved. A standard Hotbit doesn't have subslots. But with the SD mapper you probably get a subslot with RAM and MSX-DOS2/Nextor.

Unfortunately, the SD Mapper isn't emulated, so I can't figure it out for you. Also, I don't know which disk version you found.

Yes, I have copied the .bas loader and the three binaries to the root of the SD card, then ran the .bas loader from basic.
