Hi to all,

you can find in thingiverse the files to 3d print your own case for the Spectravideo SVI-728, my first computer.

As a curiosity, in the original case there are two surfaces that appear to break the rules of geometry. In fact, the designers were cheating and these two faces are not flat. The model in thingiverse solves the problem in a different way, that's why the dimensions are not the same.

Nice! If my SVI-728 case ever breaks, now I know how to print a replacement.

Do you have pictures of a printed, ready case (would be interesting to see some)?

True, it is >400mm. With a standard printer you need to cut the parts. This is the case at 70% scale, the maximum that fits in my printer:

You can find here a functional case for a raspberry pi computer, using an usb keyboard.

Great job @Palver. I design with Solidworks, I use a license for makers and students, what CAD software do you use?

I use Creo Direct, not very common, but easy to use. I plan to use the raspberry 728 case as a starting point for the Omega. A computer from the eighties deserves a case from the eighties.

I want to do a case for the Omega computer but probably my start point will be the Sergey Kiselev case design but I don't descart Sony MSX2+ style.

I'll follow your job with your case. Good luck.

The Omega is a big one. The pcb is nearly 35cm wide, I guess this mini dress will throw bubbles. Wink

Hi inyigo: I started learning about cases with this one:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2225663

Hamlet: the raspberry case is 34 cm long, here with its brother:

The omega case will be about 40 cm, so no big deal. The big question is how to deal with the function keys, I am a big fan of symmetry...
