I just installed OpenMSX via flatpak and I´m quite happy to have the newest version under Linux Mint now.

I just wonder where to put the necessary files now, as I am not able to locate OpenMSX now. Well, maybe I´m just a bit confused or even a bit dumb as it it the first application I installed this way.

I'm not familiar with flatpak, but I would say that that shouldn't change where you can place the files, at least for the current user, which should be in ~/.openMSX/share
See the openMSX setup guide for more information. :)
So, for system roms that would be ~/.openMSX/share/systemroms. :)

Thanks for your reply. There are system files, but due to a different installation of OpenMSX. They do not seem to apply to the new flatpak installation either. This only offers C-Bios.

I just recently found out myself how it works: There is a new folder created named ~/.var. Within this folder is a structure like /app/org.openmsx.openMSX. The systemfiles have to be copied into /data to do their job and provide the various machines in that flatpak installation.

Isn't there a separate flatpak for Catapult?

No, there doesn seem to be. After searching fr "msx" you can find openMSX but not catapult and searching for the term "catapult" brings no results at all.

I checked, catapult is part of the openMSX flatpak.

Fine, but how do you start it?

I have the same problem as Bodhi1969. In the flatpak distribution it only appears to be run openMSX, the catapult command is not found. Maybe the application to run should be catapult in place of openMSX

Haven't looked at the official package, but have a look here: https://github.com/openMSX/openMSX/issues/1291#issuecomment-... (under 'Installation')
