I did not manage to finish the game because of the japanese texts in the 80's, it would be nice to have an english or spanish translation of this game.

I remember to finish it with no idea about Japanese language... but a long time has passed since that moment and now I don´t feel prepared to do ir again.

Goemon and Hinotori are examples to translate into English at least so we could understand what's going on in the game.

AFAIK Ganbare Goemon is so very Japanese that it's hard to translate. It's a cultural thing...

May be some games in japanese can be finished without translation, but it is better to know all that happens in the game, e.g. I always wonder the meaning of the texts that appeared in Hinotori whenever you touched those birds statues. The game can be finished without this piece of information, but it is not as rewarding as it can be.

Amen. A game like Nyncle Racing is perfectly playable in Japanese but the English language just gives the game that little extra "value". But I must agree with Manuel that some games are just to "Japanese" to translate. Take Compile's Dragon Quiz for example. Would be easy to translate all the questions but nobody would know the answers because a lot of them are about the Japanese MSX scene in the 80's-90's.

There's more to translating than just swapping nametable values. Smile

Goemon is indeed famous in Japan, but nothing is 'too Japanese' to translate. You will just need somebody who is (at least a bit) familiar with Japanese culture. Most professional translators probably are. Doing a little bit of research may already help a lot as well, though.

Currently a new translation of Rune Master III is in development. This game also couldn't be translated without some decent research, as it is inspired by an old Chinese legend. Without any knowledge of this, some parts simply can't be translated.

Rikusu - I hope there's something going on so that we could play those translations on real MSX some day...

It's possible to translate this game.
I found the character's table and redefined the alphabet missing.

Very kewl, it's a great game but all the text just makes my head hurt.
And you know what, Hinotori is one of my fave Konami games. I really love that game and would looooove to have it (finally) translated.
