What would be the best solution on Mac? I don't have one, so I rely on your experience and knowledge.

I found the solution for F7 & F8, go to:

Preference -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts tab -> Keyboard & Text Input

Then uncheck "Change the way Tab moves focus" and "Move focus to status menus".

Great! Now, what about the yen and underscore key? Did you check the debug logging?
