good spot. interesting one...

well, by the way...if kojima wanted to launch metal gear 3 in the msx in nowadays hardware,
how much he will pay to produce?

kojima could pay any homebrew programmer, and if the game was terrible,
it doens't matter, he could buy all the cartridges that do not sell.

but it's not actually my case. it's not funny at all...to not think great.

anyone here at the MRC can think whatever they like what I wrote up there,
because if this thing costs cheap enough for me to buy,
surely i will send email to every programmer in the msx corner to ask for support
my ideas.

i don't have money.
so i don't have nothing to lose. and you?

maybe i could not produce a metal gear, but i'm trusty in my game-concepts
enough to sell the games with my concept. the only problem
is that i dunno nothing of asm, pixelart and sound.

all i can do is to think in a good and solid game that everyone could play.
is that so bad? is that so costly just to think?

if the msx scene do not think BIG. it will never be BIG again.

it's time for us to help each other. and think on good software to sell with the
new hardware. to pave the way to stablish the name msx again .

MSX will never be established like it was in the old day. A vision of MSX 3's with VDPX' lined up next to Intel Core i7 PC systems in computer stores is just not going to happen and is a pipe dream.

MSX however is a hobby platform nowadays and is kept alive by nostalgia and love for what now is retro. MSX is just not commercially viable anymore. It hasn't been for many years. Products that can still be bought are homebrew and the price is to cover the cost of the time put in making them, not to become a multimilion dollars company Wink

Just like VDPX, to me its fun to design it and eventually build it. While trying to keep the cost down, it should become an accessible product for any MSX hobbyist with a job. The cost will go towards the electronic components and labor put in building them, which would only be a minor increase in price compared to bare components.

The VDPX hopefully will just be a nice addition to the MSX scene to allow for easier software programming and achieve the things most programmers want: No VDP speed limitation so multilayer scrolling etc can be done with ease.
