I am downloading Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 ,next to download is the Visual studio sp1,and then the Windows Mobile 6 Professional sdk,and Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Tool Kit.With that i think i could compile it.

In the sdl site it mentions that a version for windows mobile phones exists, and that windows mobile 6.5 is supported.

openmsx doesn't compile on 2008 anymore, we've adjusted to the 2010 build system.

I don't know anything about porting openMSX to other platforms but I wanted to note that in 2-3 months Microsoft will release Windows Phone 7. It accepts Silverlight (for apps and simple 2D games) and XNA (for more powerful games, sush as those found on XBox 360). Could it be easier to port openMSX to this languages?
Sorry if the question is totally dumb, as I don't know how easy/difficult is.

Bad news microsoft visual studio 2010 does not support at all the windows 5.x,6.x mobile, only microsoft mobile 7 is supported.Microsoft notes that i someone wants to develop for windows mobile 5.x,or 6.x that one should use visual studio 2008 with the 6.5 mobile add on.But right now this is a manifold since openmsx only supports visual studio 2010.

If i install visual studio 2008 would someone help me in the change of openmsx?
Is all hope lost?

openMSX compiles just fine in visual studio 2008. It's just that the included visual studio project files are now made for vs2010 (AFAIK it's not possible to have one set of project files that work on multiple visual studio versions). We only switched 2008->2010 a couple months ago, so it shouldn't be too hard to bring the old 2008 project files up to date.

Alternatively you can build with gcc. There it's much easier to support a whole range of compiler versions. Though I don't know if gcc is available for your platform.

It might be easier to help you if you contact us on IRC.
