Yeah, you're probably right. In any case, it's sad it all went down like this.

Wolf, agreed. But I do expect the scene to make some slight enhancements in the future. Solve the sprites limitation, for instance.

Ah well, maybe not Smile

The problems with that:
- it'd become a 1cM-only game, the purists wouldn't like that
- current games have usually a sprite rotation set on a fixed amount of sprites, 4 or 8, so it'd only work well with new games made for that specific 1cM enhancement.
- there's still a vastly unused G9k that could use some support first.

The problem with MSX in the revival years is really the unlimited modularity vs purist-retro, there is no 'standard' MSX user, everyone has his specific config which he thinks is the ultimate config. A C64 is a lot more easy: "a SID, a decent video chip, 64KB and a slow CPU", and that's it, for everyone.

It would be a 1cM-only game which also works on a 1cM-emulator. Of course blueMSX and openMSX are going to support this enhancement as well Smile

But you're right. The G9K needs more focus first.

Or what the heck, a universal one that can do C64, MSX, and some other old skool stuff by the flick of a switch. Smile

Did you hear about Dingoo A320 console I wrote above, which comes with a number of emulators on-board ?

No I didn't but I wasn't talking about an emulator device. I'd rather see a device where I can stick in the original cartridges (just like the NES device). No emulation, just true MSX(2) in a portable form. Smile

"the general public" doesn't care about emulation. Too cumbersome.

The general public is paying for emulation in the new machines, actually.

Real hardware or emulation. I want a MSX2 handheld (with a MSX2 or better logo on it Tongue )

So...who's gonna contact some Chinese companies for a quotation?

The 1chipMSX actually is a hardware emulator. There should be enough market for a HandHeld MSX if correct developed ...

Indeed, I think the market is much bigger then the market for the 1chipMSX which is a nice piece of hardware but only interesting for MSX fans or Nerds. No offence! Wink

We need a new MSX computer/hand held that doesn't require installation/configuration/etc...just plugin/load a game or software and play/use it! Then you have a big market.

Let a chinese manufacture produce a hand held which is capable of running at least msx2 software and local 'dealerships' like basix, Sunrise, etc..can distribute the hand helds and provide support.

Most gamers, including myself, will accept "pocket MSX" in form of either highly portable emulator for mobile phone or as a cheap console running MSX emulator, like the 85$ Dingoo A320 (note: at the moment it only runs the way limited MSXAdvance under other emulator)

Cax, you just bought me :) I've just purchased one unit in an Italian eShop for 79 Euros :)

Toilet gaming... HERE I COME! LOL!
