That's true, Meits, but in this case i don't see how you can make it significantly smaller - you still have to put floppy inside (no flatcables makes it really attractive)
Panasonic was not very subtile with their cartridges... A bit cartoonish even... They though the end user didn't want to see the monitor anyway
I think these were designed with their FS-A1 and FS-A1mkII in mind. These have a slot on the back and my guess is the cartridge/drive case will login up quite nicely when used in that slot on such a machine.
What about: what is the least amount of free RAM you could get in BASIC on a machine by plugging in a normal old school released pieces of hardware on a real MSX machine?
It was a bit too easy to check on emulator, but I don't spoil the fun for you.

Well, you still need to know what you are looking at and how you can emulate such a setup. The fact that emulators can emulate is probably not the biggest secret in 2019.
