On my game for MSX2, the scroll shakes the border, It is ok because you play with the game not the border, I will not waste sprites to mask the border and uses for the enemies and more things.
most television sets have a overscan tolerance so pratically you do not see those artifacts.
And of course this is far better than having a blocking 8 pixel scrolling, like most msx games do.
Neither did the Higemaru borders bothered me. And this game is older than Space Manbow. And both Pennant Race 2 and Namcot's Baseball also uses this way of smothscrolling. Certainly all of them got a much smoother gameplay thanks to this.
And really, the overscan took care of the masking part back in the 80s.
I had a turbo R before I got space manbow, so I never saw the shaky borders as I played it on the turbo R as of day 1. Hence the shaky borders could not bother me at all. Thats why I voted 'no'.
On the other hand, would I have played the game on an MSX2, then they would certainly have bothered me and I would have voted 'yes' to this poll.
