It was 140 NLG originally Smile

Might be nice to be able to emulate this beast Smile I wonder if they ever fixed all the bugs in it... I read a review by Mari v/d Broek, and his conclusion was that it is unusable due to all the bugs.

Why did you buy it? Smile

Right, Aladdin! Is it available somewhere? Does someone have it?
I have it too, also never tried it. Wink
It comes with a cartridge and a disk and states with a sticker that it's version 1.50.

@ Abi
You bought it from me (in a set)! You must remember your long travel, about two years ago, to Terneuzen!

Since it's not distributed anymore, how can I 'dump' the ROM?

I just hope Gerard (he kept a BBS online for MSX Club Gouda) didn't pay the amount of money that was mentioned here. Aladin was a real headache for us. We had to pay royalties to the Italian developers. Invested in -indeed mostly copy protection- cartridge prints. Also a marketing trick to give it a professional look and feel. We had to lobby at MCM to have it reviewed in a positive way despite the bugs. The idea was to offer a Dynamic Publisher replacement. Even our own club magazine was supposed to be created with Aladin (it never was actually). The initial price was to cover the update service. Aladin was supposed to offer a plug in structure. That way other programmers could add functionality to Aladin. We were really serious about making this a succesful project.

Finally because the enormous amount of bugs were never fixed (in time), we had to organize a recall. We lost an awful lot of money on this project.

I've found one rom (don't know whether it worked) in the attic. See the Trading and Collecting Forum.
