Hey there all,

Okay here is the deal, my old Sanyo WAVY PHC-70FD2 has no 220v power transformer :-(
The ones i used were mainly external msx 1 transformers (actually very dangerous, i popped a lot of fuses back then Wink)
When I bought this machine the original 110v board was taken out.
Is there anyone here in Holland who can put a new stable board in this WAVY?
If so, whats the price and are there also any other nice modifications available ?
(like internal 2,5" IDE HDD or flash + Interface, plenty of space in the casing)
If i'm correct there is already 192Kb Vram in there...

cool Big smile now i finally see how it's suppose to look like... i don't have any of these ingredients on the board.
anyone smart enough here to put the components on the board?

Modification is as simple as above .pdf, but I'd like to add:

  • 350V is a bit tight, better is a capacitor rated for 400 or 450V. For same energy content, capacitor should be 68 uF at least. Larger value / voltage rating is okay, but makes the part bigger. This type of thick / high voltage capacitor with wires next to each other is often referred to as a 'snap-in' capacitor. For same purpose I bought a 150uF/400V capacitor a while ago that's about same size as original (but roughly double the energy capacity).
  • Fuse should be rated for 230V AC, but (since energy consumption stays the same) lower current. Like 0.5~0.6x factory-fitted value (yeah there's short peak currents but it'll be a slow fuse anyway so that's okay).
  • It must be verified that the small yellow capacitors (lower left of picture in .pdf) are okay for use with 230V AC - probably fine, but you can't take any chances there since these parts are safety-critical (mains voltage on one side, parts that you touch on the other side).
  • I'd also replace the bridge rectifier (that small black square thingie with + and - markings) since there's no way of knowing whether fitted part is okay for 230V, and these things cost peanuts anyway.

Where are you / your machine located? Wink Also 512K RAM extension is pretty straightforward in this machine. Btw: what do you mean with "the original 110v board was taken out" ? Question AFAIK there's only a single board (main board) in the machine - you're saying entire mainboard is missing?

Ah, good to see that there are some positive adjustments to the PDF.
On the Wavy there is indeed no separate board, what I meant to say is that all the components for the power aren't on the mainboard anymore...
I live in the Netherlands (Dordrecht now-a-days), so if you have some sparetime left ;-)

What the... oOQuestion If you check that above .pdf, can you indicate which components are missing? Regulator (black square thing in foreground) as well? Transformer? Perhaps easier: make a photo of that corner of the board, and post here / mail me.

I'll make some pics sometime this week. If I'm correct all the parts for the power are gone. Huge empty space there. Perhaps we need the blue-print so we can see where all the parts suppose to be.
