Starting with fMSX-Android 3.6.2, I have fixed the virtual keyboard display in the accelerated mode and enabled video acceleration by default. As it takes less time to update the screen, the number of drawn frames has been increased to 65%, so the emulation should feel much smoother now. You can get the latest fMSX-Android here:

Free version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fms.fmsx

Ad-free version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fms.fmsx.d...

If you are an existing fMSX-Android user, you will have to uninstall and then reinstall fMSX in order for the new default settings to take effect. Or you can set them manually in Settings. If you are having any performance problems with the new fMSX, please do not hesitate reporting them here. Always mention what hardware you are running fMSX on.

ALL CHANGES:
* Switched to using video acceleration by default.
* Increased the number of frames drawn by default.
* Now showing button labels and keyboard with video acceleration enabled.
* No longer deleting buttons layout on each upgrade.
* Added fast navigation with sections to the file selector.
* Improved the file selector UI look and feel.
* Enlarged screenshots in the file selector and Freeze/Restore.

I've been using fmsx on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and that works great.
Now I've installed Android (android-x86-4.0-rc2, from android-x86.org) on my eee PC 701, and tried the fmsx, it installs but does not run. Is it simply because the Android fmsx build is only for ARM? Or does it work on other x86 based Android devices but not on eee PC? It would be great if we could get the eee PC running Android supported...please!

fMSX-Android contains native ARM code. Some of it is handwritten in ARM assembly, the rest compiles from C. I am afraid converting it all to x86 will be way too time consuming to attempt. I will consider supporting x86 Android once there is a significant number of x86 devices running it on the market.
