Hi! I'm beginner with fMSX and just bought it to android-tablet from play.google. Main reason to buy it was this line "* Loads ROMs (*.rom), disk images (*.dsk) and tape images (*.cas)."
Everything works like a charm but .cas-files do not. fMSX cant find 'em at all, not even if I use advanced settings and try to load them from there. Any cure for this???

CAS files are supported in fMSX only with the command line and the parameter -tape followed by the name of the CAS file.

In the Windows version, you can create a shortcut and adjust the command line in the Properties; I don't know how you can do that on Android.

Thx!
Could you give example of that command line parameter...? As I said, I'm total newbie in this. oO
Also if anyone knows how to solve this with Android, plz help!

Simple example with a.cas file in the same directory as fMSX.exe :

fMSX.exe -tape a.cas

When you are on the blue BASIC screen, you need then to enter RUN"CAS:" or BLOAD"CAS:",R or CLOAD followed separately by RUN when a program has been loaded. There are indeed 3 different forms of tape files on MSX.

jrosnell: perhaps not what you wanted to hear, but there are also (free and paid) alternatives like MSX.emu and openMSX. Those can also load CAS images. (And (at least) openMSX auto loads them with the proper load command...)

Manuel, please, stop doing this. This thread is specifically about fMSX release information and support. You may notice that I abstain from pushing my own software in other threads and follow the example. Thanks.

I was just being informative here. He of course still has the choice to do whatever he wants. Where else should I have posted this info? It would be totally out of context anywhere else.

You should post this info in forum threads specifically created for your product, or other relevant threads (with care, of course). You should not plaster ads for your product all over the forum, especially in threads created specifically to provide support for other products. I have always thought of this as a matter of common sense and good manners, obvious to every mature forum poster.

I'm just trying to help the poster in the best way I can, regardless of which forum I'm posting in. The forums are for helping people, right? (I admit that in this case there was an opportunity to plug my own project, and I took it. But I tried to stay objective by giving the proper information I have at hand and mentioning multiple alternatives.)
