it's the same as the one in the legendary Yamaha DX7 synth.
the DX7 has 6 operators based on sine-waves .. I don't think any MSX-soundchip has 6op FM
but.. anyone with specs on this one?

6 operators? Hm...
About the specs: check out manuel's link
Vincent clearly completed an answer already given and therefor his answer is correct. The currenct question of the Amazing Neverending MSX Quiz therefor is: (drumroll)
Where and when was the first big dutch fair being held?
Bussum 2004 was the 16th one (http://www.tni.nl/products/bussum/). Assuming there was 1 every year, the first one would be in 1989, in Zandvoort. It seems there was one on 23-9-1989 (http://www.msx.bas-ditta.info/teksten/beursboekjes.htm).
I'm not sure Zandvoort was the first big Dutch fair, but I'll post this guess anyway.
Nope, there was one earlier. It was well promoted in the MCM as they thought it was a great initiative.
He do owns the 'beurs boekje' (program) of the first fair though
September 16th, 1990 in the Evenementenhal in Tilburg
The MSX-Doe Dagen in The Hague (in the Speed Skating Centre "de Uithof" ) were before 1989...
Heck, it could well be a fair held by MSX-info back in 1985. I thought this fair triggered the start of e.g. MSX Gids IIRC.
Thom: that one must be it. I had also a bonus question in relation to this first fair: "Why are there so few issues left of MCM 1?"
