Well, cleaning my Philips MSX monitor (something I asked about a while ago) didn't help as its still noisy and it has a slight color problem anyways (lots of white turning temporarily red).
I'm temporarily using some bedroom tv but the automatic "the-screen-gets-to-bright-I-better-reduce-brightness" is getting on my nerves.
It's also not half as clear as the old MSX monitor and it's better with Composite than SCART, I think it SHOULD be the other way 'round normally.
I'm looking for an alternative, but I can't spend too much, and neither do I need a huge screen - I just need a good one.
Can anyone here recommend some tv's that are specifically good at displaying computer/console gfx (specifically through scart) ? Again, no huge 100hz things wanted, just something that's decent and doesn't have these annoying automatic correction settings.
Monitor's of some kind would be good too (I don't even need a TV tuner in it).
I know I could get another MSX monitor from somewhere but I'm rather looking for a new alternative.
I've seen some "cheap" TFT tv's for sale. Are those any good?
A good alternative to the MSX monitor...

Depends. The SCART connector can carry both RGB and CVBS signals, but it's entirely possible that your TV doesn't have the RGB pins connected...
I just bought a Samsung 15" stereo LCDtv for 250 euro, and it is great! It`s connected to both my MSX and PC (1024 resolution).
well it is a bit expensive u can find 17 inches for less than 200 euros.

I think the cheapest around here are around 299... does the brand matter a lot or are most of those tings equal in quality? I did like all the different connectors it had (vga, composite, svideo and scart), but the salesman insisted SCART = composite (which isn't true, but it makes me unsure about that tv)

There's electronic stuff which is not even that expensive in Norway compared to Holland.
A friend of mine once was gonna visit me and though of buying a videocard here... He didn't... The prices in Norway were more attracting...
I bet that doesn't just go for videocards
Yeah, DVD players and some PC equipment is cheap because we have a really good online shop called Komplett.no which makes heavy competition for the others, but you cannot find cheaper LCD TV`s than this. The shop actually lost money off of them. AND I stopped by shops in Germany and Italy to find them cheaper and I didn`t. RadioMarkt or whatever it`s called.
MediaMarkt?
MediaMarkt?
I've had a look. They had a Samsung one in stock recently.
So, generally an LCD tv would be a good idea?
there's also komplett.nl but as with most things, the cheapest shops in NL are more expensive than the "normal" shops in other countries. I usually order stuff through german webshops, and save me a lot of money
