This might be familiar to brazilian users, but I would like to know the vision from everybody....

I used to have a brazilian MSX 1.1 (Sharp HotBit), so I have never seen the blue MSX logo people know from MSX 2 systems...

Anyways I only saw the logo from the box, manuals, books, advertisements, etc. from the brazilian companies (Sharp from HotBit and Gradiente from Expert). And I have the feeling, that they used to make a red MSX logo, so in my mind there is this standard... Only years later, when I discovered the MSX revival on Internet, I got to know machines from other countries and the MSX 2 systems and above, and it was a strange feeling to see the standard blue color on the logo. Maybe not that strange, because of the default blue screen color...

Anyways, I would like to know, if I am crazy about this association I make with the red color on the logo, of if anyone else also noticed some standardization by Sharp with the red.

Crazy topic!!!!

Red logo seems a bit weird looking from this side of the world, but... If you really think that MSX logo should be red, then you can change that on MSX2 or better... Just write SET TITLE "",4

No need of SET SCREEN here .... See the wiki: http://www.msx.org/wiki/SET_TITLE

It is a good point raised by Necron: On the MSX start screen we all know the blue background, black square and white MSX text.
However in advertisements, on boxes and game covers, the MSX logo sometimes uses a red square in stead of a black square.
It is used fairly inconsistent across the industry, so I wonder if ASCII ever released any guidelines for the colors of the logo?
Any ideas?

On the screen itself, I agree it looks strange in any color but black and blue. interesting to see the different possibilities though.

My thoughts are the ones the_engineer told: The printed material. I believe there is no guidelines on the color...

I think there's some confusion here?
MSX2(+)/tR BIOS title screen vs logo's found on MSX computers, (game) boxes, manuals etc?

I think OP is pointing to a red logo as seen here: http://museuvirtual.unipar.br/raridades/gradiente-msx-expert

EDIT: ah, OP just explained himself.. ;)

Regarding printed material etc. I've seen all sorts of combinations..
Games boxes of Japanese MSX2 (and above) releases from e.g. Konami, Compile, T&E Soft seem to use red+white.
A company like Microcabin however seems to use mostly black+white (which can perhaps be seen as the 'standard' spec?) (For most releases they seem to display the logo's/specs in an opaque box (so that can 'support' the the b+w logos so it seems)).. Exceptions exist though.. ;))
I've also seen a Compile Disk Station cover that uses yellow/orange + white etc..

White+black is also fairly common..
