Nice! Using mostly monochromatic imagery and then use (dithered) colours to shade in the lighting, and since lighting has soft transitions it isn’t so affected by the colour clash. The same technique would also work well in screen 12 I think.

Impressive TMS9918 screens !! ... I'll post them here for everyone to see.
Either he used an incredible tool to convert images, or he spent countless hours creating them manually.

Wikipedia say ColecoVision use TMS9928A/TMS9929A... there is no feature difference with our MSX 1 VDP?

No, they have exactly the same capabilities. The only difference is in the output:
TMS9918A: 60Hz NTSC composite signal
TMS9928A: 60Hz YPbPr signal
TMS9929A: 50Hz YPbPr signal

Black and white image is even prettier in certain way.

There is still some hidden potential even on MSX 1.
