Metal gear seemed fairly expensive on this system! i didnt know like someone said earlier on here that it was originally released on here. but i would definitely be interested in RPG's, thanks for the list, ill keep them in mind.
That’s why I play Metal Gear 2 on MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD . Metal Gear 1 I have original from back when it didn’t cost an arm and a leg on eBay. But yeah, for originals MSX is a fairly expensive system.
Nice nice haha, Yeah, Retro seems to boom lately, i have a few friends whom collect like me, but they REFUSE to trade and will only buy, which i dont sell because i know im going to get undercut anyway!
Though for around €40 you can get a lot of nice MSX2 games, e.g. most of the RPGs tend to go for that much (like Ys), and many Konami cartridge games as well (like Usas). Also on eBay patience is a virtue :). Also this Sony MSX1 was listed today, cheaper than the other Sony (but of course the other is boxed so its price makes sense).
Ooooo! thats a pretty sony! thank! i actually might pick that up xD i already have most of the original YS games on Steam, but thats awesome to know that they were on this system.
Yeah I have the HB-75P myself as well, it’s a nice computer, also this is one of the MSX1 computers with RGB output, which is not so common.
Note it’s a European one so you need a 230V->110V power transformer if you don’t have one already, and it outputs PAL.
Konami used to have a dedicated MSX development team.
When Hideo Kojima (creator of the Metal Gear series, in case you didn't know) joined Konami, he joined that MSX team and his first work was on Penguin Adventure. A couple of years later he created Metal Gear. After that game was done, he met a colleague on the train who told him Konami's Famicom team was working on a Metal Gear port for Famicom. So essentially they went behind his back and ported it. He then also learned they made Snake's Revenge, again without him knowing. Which lead to Kojima creating Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, again for MSX.
Penguin Adventure is also a great MSX1 game btw . Played that for many many hours.
Also don't forget Knightmare. Another true MSX classic imo.
i do know who he is, but i didnt know that konami went behind his back twice :O
