I bought one of these for myself, so I can recommend it. 
The only real drawback I could find is that it needs to be calibrated to output the correct colors, as it's a fully analog circuit. It's only once, but it needs. It has a series of knobs inside for that and doesn't come with any manual explaining what they do.
Then I fiddled with them until I found what each one does, and published the findings in my website, as shown bellow.
1) There are three input knobs that control the amount of each color from the RGB input that it will consider.
2) Then there are three knobs related to the output that are very similar to the tint/saturation/brightness control of the old analog TVs. You can use a well known reference image to do the calibration. Usually, only the hue and saturation knobs will need some adjustment.
After this initial calibration, you're done. I never needed to calibrate my converter anymore. The image quality is superb and there's zero latency added since it's a fully analog circuitry.
Other (very minor) issues were more related to ease of use, and I solved them myself this way:
1) The device does't have an on/off switch. To turn it off you have to unplug the power connector. I just added a toggle switch at the front.
2) The power LED is located at the back of the device. I just moved the power led to the front side.
3) It doesn't output the audio that comes from the SCART connector. It was very easy to add it myself. I used the hole in the back where the power LED used to be to install a [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_(audio)]3.5mm TRS socket[/url] and connected it to the audio pins of the SCART connector using a shielded cable.
4) The last improvement was to add a heatsink to the 7805 voltage regulator, since as you can see from the picture it comes with none and gets quite hot.
