This is a message for the msx hardware developer:

You are making a lot of fantastic hardware but please, please, please make a replacement for those poor msx machines that are missing the keyboard.
Please save them from oblivion!

Thank you Smile

The keyboard is a specific hardware on each MSX. What is your MSX?

Doesn't matter what MSX we have. A cardridge-2-PS2 adapter like Padial's will do the job.
I agree with mau_rizio. We need keyboard adapters. I have a Pioneer Palcom PX-V60 and a National FS-5500 both without keyboard and with no luck to find one replacement.

The adapters Padial makes work like a charm indeed. The one I have doesn't work well with every ps/2 keyboard I ran into, but after testing a few all worked fine.
Mine is quite old already so I bet he made better versions.

Yes, I saw the board at his webpage. But he haven't any info for price or availability or how we can buy one.
His page is not even in English, so nothing is clear about. Maybe he answer to emails, but I don't asked him yet.
Anyway, I think he can had a more friendly webpage for international orders, like have other developers of hardware.

I also wrote to Padial along time ago but after a couple of messagge, he's disappeared so i have no info about availability or price.

If Padial is reading please tell us something, i've not any preference for the maker Smile

Usually service manual is correct place to look for schematics of keyboard... Then you just open your new keyboard, cut the existing connections and wire it like original was wired. Sometimes some additional chip is needed to reduce amount of wires, but many times keyboard is just a dummy device without any chips or components inside and all the logic is inside the MSX case... This approach anyway requires quite a bit of patience.

For philips 8280 controller can be done according to the scheme: The controller for the Yamaha YIS-503

Here is your interface.
Here is the pricelist.
At the bottom is his e-mail address.
Check the green text where available, they're in English. Otherwise there's google translate.

I have no clue how active he still is.
