ANother question: what is the reason that "Stefan Boer" is mentioned on the "Syntax Error" article, as a former member of that group? That seems quite unlikely to me, so I'd like to know the source of this information.

No any idea, it has been mentioned on the first version of the non-category page, written in 2009 by Wolf:

Ah, right :-)

That stems back to the days of the wiki when MRC2k11 wasn't out yet. It was prolly some variation on the Lorum Ipsum phenomenon. Feel free to fix those, as poor old Stefan is bound to be elsewhere as well, as I C/P'd that table into each new page.

It is now fixed! Thanks, Wolf, for the explanation. Wink

@Meits: Your Wiki page about .arj https://www.msx.org/wiki/.arj

leads to a 403 error (acces denied). I think that the site does not accept pages with a title beginning with a point.

I suggest that you make a page with as title 'arj (person)' to avoid also some confusion with the arj format.

Upon request of the author (BiFi) I have removed the part that IPS4MSX can not apply all IPS files. He would like to know (by mail) which IPS files can not be applied.

Does someone know what the difference is between a Yamaha CX7/128 and a Yamaha CX7M/128?
The few images I found of the CX7/128 also show a module in the side slot and the one that snatcher73 owns also has the SFG-05 in that slot. Also, it says "Music Computer". Would it perhaps be the presence of the minicartridge with FM Voicing Program II? (It's not in snatcher73's machine.)

Who knows?

Maybe it’s just marketing? The M series was sold in very different venues and marketed towards a different target audience (music shops and musicians) who bought the computers primarily as music production machines rather than “an MSX”.

Though I could also imagine that the CX7 did not come with a side slot module (or one other than the SFG), but was just frequently bundled with it by stores, or maybe some bundle discount by Yamaha.

Maybe someone Japanese on Twitter knows… I asked.

On the official Yamaha page, the SFG-05 is indicated as accesssory for the CX7/128:

https://jp.yamaha.com/products/music_production/music-comput...

It's not the case for the CX7M/128:

https://jp.yamaha.com/products/music_production/music-comput...

Besides, you can compare the prices:
* CX7/128: ¥99,800
* CX7M/128: ¥128,000

* SGF-05: ¥29,800
* YRM-502: ?

It looks like that the YRM-502 was offered gratis with the CX7M/128 as ¥99,800 + ¥29,800 is already higher than ¥128,000

mars: true, but the CX7M/128 page doesn't list ANY accessory, does it? So I'm not sure that tells us much.
