My favorite emu is paraMSX, but the GUI is not important for me, I use it for the compatibility with the .ROM and .DSK (other emu like RuMSX and NLMSX crash several times... Crying )

In my opinion, the best user-friendly emulator is MAME (a complete list, icons for ROMS working or non-working, a big options pannel...) I think MAME is the best way to follow to make a user-friendly environment

Does NO$MSX run on NT/XP systems?

NO$MSX works on XP, at least on mine. As I said you in other thread, run it in "W98 compatible mode"

MAME is a console application. Unless you are talking about MAME32 or any of the available frontends or variants.

It would be REALLY user-friendly if it could make coffee LOL!

It's not about the emulator, it's about the front end.

Like I said in a previous post, I'd really like to see a front end which is specifically tuned to run [games]. One click to play Penguin Adventure. Another click to play Hard Boiled... without the trouble of inserting discs or rompacks. Of course one would have to standarize disc images and rom images, i.e. one name for each, just like in mame.

BTW, which msx emu is capable of running zipped dsk or rom images?

if openMSX doesn't do it yet, it would be somewhat trivial to add it.. zlib rules Smile

[admin edit] Please don't link to a page with 135 roms, thank you. And please read our policies [/edit]
