Haha, that's so cool!
I only discovered Ceephax recently, but I bet he's a cool guy alright, love the crazy video's he's doing & stuff Funny it came to mind to mention his name
And cool to just recently learn Camelot Warriors (the CPC/C64/Spectrum/MSX game) has been one of his main inspirations (obviously.. )
Gotta dig his range as well. I e.g. love Winterlo & Quincy's Classic (dat bass.. ) Range thing goes for Tipper as well of course
Kinda curious how you guys crossed paths now
Ceephax is actually doing a gig tomorrow in Amsterdam, I checked the line-up, but am afraid overall it's not completely up my alley. But perhaps I'll drop by at the door, see what the vibe is. Seeing what he's programmed 'against', he may opt for more of the acid rough businesses than I like.
But I could be wrong (and it's a day/evening thing afteral) (You know perhaps what he's planning on doing & at what time he's on? LOL
)
Definitely let me know when you're around doing something cool (esp. when teaming up w/ Ceephax o/c!)
Hey there's still another fun fact: I own a canvas w/ one of your MSX kbd artworks on it (I WON it, yeah!) (Cpc_lc)
Oh, yeah, didn't recognize the name, I know of Ochre, but it's been a while I listened to some of his stuff, I believe it's was Sound System Bangers Volume 01.
You're also doing artwork / album covers etc? So you're fulltime into this, that's cool man
Thanks for the link (much better)!
(And: uhu, 'C-Men' )
Nah he'll definitely play a couple of melodic classics, including some of the camelot tracks. It's a mix of both that and more straightforward acid, but overall he does quite a few melodic tunes
We crossed paths many years ago, twice in London when I was veejaying there and met him in the netherlands a few times. My friend is his booker as well as my old booker, and he suggested the collab, which of course should have been done ages ago haha.
Haha oh nice, glad you won that ^^ I still wanna make those for myself as well, or if you're interested I can send you the other 2 pics, in case you want more canvases haha.
hehe and yeah, c-men is indeed what you think it is We picked the name as a sarcastic pisstake on ourselves, being zaad (i.e. of shitty quality) and the name stuck haha.
Well my regular job is being a self employed animator/video guy etc. We worked for maxim hartman (MAND!) and do regular video's for companies etc.
But yeah, the msx is where it all started in terms of computing hehe. And then the amiga 500, 1200 etc.
Thanx for the download link. Very nice set! MSX on Lowlands festival, awesome!
Cool bg info
I'll think about your offer when I decide to redecorate the walls here
I believe I spotted some pretty nice artwork/drawings from your hand, I might be more interested in those then
You & Cphx got me convinced, should I tell him poke said hi? (Or are you visiting yourself perhaps? ) Do you know if he brings any of the 'I knew Ceephax' tee's to his gigs? (if he ever printed more than one that is) (even if it's not true: wanna!
)
Regarding the collab: I actually meant musically wise. Should be fun (the video's already sorted I reckon
)
haha yeah by all means do
But he'll probably know me by the c-men or just julian.
I wonder if he has those, you mean the cat shirts? That one is pretty hilarious haha.
ok if you want some pics, gimme a yell!
Highlight @ 45:24 (acid solo)
Out of control / feeling frisky @ 55:44 )
Medieval acid @ 56:25 (hold on to your horses!) (Phaxalot @35:40)
Yeah, the cat shirts He's all out unfortunately
Cool being there, meeting Ceephax, see him in action, chat a bit Told him you said hi, he liked that
Told him he should come back soon, team up with you as well again
haha, the set sounds familiar. Most of the tracks are the ones I did visuals for in Lyon and Dour.
My brother filmed the set at Dour festival, and edited most of it into a promo clip. That should
definitely get us more gigs together. nice you had a chat with him, he's a very laid back guy.
