Please do not experiment with exchanging TX and RX.
TX is an output and RX is an input.
If you connect the TX to pin 6, you connect an output to an output. This could short circuit your msx engine chip.

i don't think that really matters, pin 6 can function both as an input and as an output.
usually it is set to 1 and to close the switch you short it to 0.
the impedance is quite high on that circuit.

During ‘send’ from the MSX, pin 6 is switched to output and can drive the pin low. The idle voltage on TX from the pc is high.
At that point you have a short circuit. Also, the output from the MSX is an open collector, so it can’t source a lot of current, but it can sink a lot of current. Please do not experiment with this because it can do a lot of damage.

How is the 115200bps routine coming?

I have sample code available, but is very sensitive. Meanwhile I am testing a 86400 bps variant and that looks promising.
I hope to have a working mini driver tested next week.

Do you have an EPROM and a writer?

Thanks

Basically you want to do the procedure I wrote in this other thread. (page 1)

It's about casldr but it's the same process.

This is why I think those 2 tools for the msx side for loading cas or rom should be included in the dsk file for those people who want to use without tape loading. (Some msx machines don't have cassette ports.)
