hm, not sure what you mean.

In case of 'play', I could name some. There are quite a few BGM players on MSX, and also a handful of options for Windows.

But.. 'record' ? Do you mean record your own music, or record music from a game?

Some emulators can record soundtracks (blue/openMSX).

I'm sorry 4 late but what I meant was record music from a game I tried Blue MSX and it's good but there are wepons and explogens sounds with it and I don't want that I want a pure music only. There are beautiful musics like the one in Nemsis II stage 6 you can't record it pure without noise Sad

What I would do in this case would be, that I would download and install WinAmp and MSXplug. Then I would go to www.google.com and write "kss download" and click "I feel lucky" I would pick Nemesis2 songs as KSS-file and play them on WinAmp.

Winamp can also use output plugins to convert the songs to any other format, but I would not do that because this causes size of the files to turn from KB's into MB's

Another possibility would be, that I would go to www.bgmsx.com and listen those songs online. (Gradius II = Nemesis II)

And as a last resort you can get the latest openMSX, record all sound channels separately and manually weed out the sfx

To record Konami SCC music you can use the "Masters of Konami SCC Sounds" made by Martos.
You can find it here.

The best way to make soundtrack recordings btw is using the real thing.
I'll still planning recording sessions for Yahoo MSX-SCC group .... any help/suggestions would be nice.

Well, first off, I think it's a great idea!

I don't agree on recording the songs on 50Hz though, but hey, it's your site, and you can do what the heck you wanna do with it! :)

Also, there's two minor 'type mismatches':

"inmortal" and "Megradrive", but that's hardly important I guess.
