I know there exist CF adapters for other types of cards - e.g. an adapter to use MMC in a CF card, which in turn gets connected to the Sunrise CF interface. I don't know whether or not such a thing exists for MMC as well. Based on this, I suggest you'd go for a Sunrise package.

Hard choice indeed. I got a Sunrise CF card just before Padial's announce, I might have been hesitating just about the same otherwise.

I like the idea of having a memory mapper included (and slot expanders) on some padial's versions: it is ready for MSX1 (without floppy), which is relevant to me.

I've got a Philips 8250 / a Canon V20 / a Yamaha CX5M II (why so many?...)

Only the 8250 can use my Sunrise cartridge.
Padial's (with mapper) would have been usable on the 3 of them, as far as I know.

I therefore think Sunrise hardware is quite well documented, several tutorials have been written (some very recently), and forum threads are full of info. Its plastic protection is precious too.

As for Padial's : hardware looks absolutely incredible and I am really considering getting some, but I would certainly have done it already if I could find some more accurate info on the web.

Anyway : thanks to Sunrise & Padial, very impressive job on the 2 sides!

I own a Sunrise CF cartridge but now I would buy the new Padial MMC interface. The only con of Padial's interface is that it doesn't come cased.

I have a sunrise CF and must say it's really one of my favourite pieces of hardware, would recommend it to everyone.

Well I think I would say if people donot want to use a floppy ask for a prepared CF-card, could save some problems , but is a free choice, and no one seems to think of that possibility too.
And I think there is also a solution for the padial card as regards casing but find out yourself, that's not up to me. Besides that can someone tell me if the krazilec driver would work on a sunrise interface whatever it is ide-only/combi or CF.
Also a factor is postage and package
