Where´s find to download a software program floppy emulator RUNIT from Darkside? I try more stuff in Google and I don´t sucess...

Well it was on our former website.... but that doesn't exist anymore. You can ask someone to mail it to you, because it is freeware. Sorry I can't help you at the moment because all my MSX data isn't at home...

Hi there,

I have made a new version. It is still beta though.

For as far as i tested
Big Strategy, Illusion City, Tower of Cabin, XAK2 and XAK Tower of Gazzel can be played from HDD

Loading and saving seems to work as well.

If you want to test some games please download the beta at www.xs4all.nl/~martenw/Runit2.zip

XAK1 demo does work but switching to the second disk hangs the MSX.

On a TurboR the XAK3 demo doesnt work correctly (corrupted gfx) but the game will run correctly. (Using the /P parameter fixes the problem but XAK3 will run in Z80 mode and will be slower)

There is still a lot of debugging and testing needed. But ill get to the final version some day :)

Have fun with this beta.

(All sectorbased games work ofcourse)

And important is that runit doesn't rely on a certain disk controller. It makes all other Floppy Emulator programs obsolete

I just noticed with XAK2 you cannot enter the church which is probably some kind of copy protection.

small questions :
it to use concat for the plays in several dsk ?
it to use adapt like the first the program
runit2 does not start if it is not in the partition of the DSK files
i trying a path to partition a: but no start logo and hdd led in writing mode

Hi Jipe,

Can you tell me what setup you have ?

If you have for example A:\DOS in your path and Runit.com+emudsk.rom is in the dos map it should start

Note: both files have to be in the same map.

Please be aware that it is a beta and i dont have all setup's to test it on
