Manuel, i do not have openmsx unfortunately.
I reverted to my working version so I do not have the ability to give you enything to test.
(Bare in mind that probably nobody ever will try to hijack the system segment)
Fray can be added to supported list of games
And high speed loading on a WSX/WX/FX has been added music is distorted in xak when high speed mode enabled.
What would you like? Just always high speed loading or I could make it a parameter.
SDMNearDark: well, it's easy to get... Anyway, although noone might ever hijack that segment, I'm still interested in finding bugs in openMSX!
If you can find back the test case, maybe you can send it to dvik, so that he can at least find the bug in blueMSX. When he can, we can try to fix it in openMSX as well, if necessary.
Manuel: here is the version that hijacks the system segment.
On BlueMSX TurboR with Sunrise IDE the emu hangs
BlueMSX in MSX2+ mode with Sunrise IDE works fine.
www.xs4all.nl/~martenw/runitst.zip
On a real TurboR it works fine as well.
Note to all:
Fray does work on an IDE interface but im have troubles with the Novaxis so more debugging is required *sob* =/
(This test version is the latest beta and also runs Fray+Hydefos)
Thanks! I'll try it soon, but not today.
In blueMSX, Sunrise IDE emulation doesn't play nice if you run a MSX turboR configuration. I already reported this misbehaviour.
Yes! What a nifty piece of software my good old friend SMD has been making lately!!! Tonight I was at his devshed and he demonstrated me all the possibillities of runit2. Ofcourse I've been trying to be supportive where I could, but I don't have any programming skills on the MSX so all the credits go to SMD and the ones who supported him with that (they know who they are )
We also discovered that the demo of Tower of Gazzel which doesn't work well in R800 mode on the Novaxis and IDE interfaces, but with a Mega-SCSI it does work well. Interesting.... this is causing a lot of debugging again.
For me this is the program I've been waiting for a long time...
SMD: I tried your runit2 on openMSX/turboR with Gazzel, and that works as expected. (The demo shows glitches, but that's not a bug in runit, it's because the game relies on a slow disk drive... You get the same when running it with NoWind on a real MSX.)
Can you tell me exactly what you tried, so we are sure it's working properly? (Which game, which options, etc.)
How do I let it switch to disk 3? Do I need to concatenate the disk images?
(If you get this finalized, it's a great program! Waiting for years for something as good as this!)
Just make one image of it. Like how it's made with getdisk made by Michel Shuqair... To switch to disk 3 you hold "3" key and push the spacebar at the same time.
It relies on a slow disk drive. That's some strange coding
