Which version of Runit are you using?
Which games are you trying to start?
I have the latest version. Now that you asked it: I guess I managed to select three games that indeed were only released as cartridges...(talk about bad luck) I tried Kings Valley, Goonies and Nemesis. I'll try the games on the copatibility list next Thanks DarkSMDNearDark for runit and yuor help
You can find tools to load the ROM files here http://www.faq.msxnet.org/suffix.html#ROM
It's best to get the .ROM files instead of the diskimages of it and use one of those tools.
If you have an SCC cartridge with switch to turn off the game you should also download PSGTOSCC created by Nyyrikki and use it before you run a game without SCC/FMPAC like YS for example :) (http://www.msx.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=...)
Does the Tower of Gazzel .ips patch from the Neardark site work on the translated version? I use IPSWIN for patching and when the translated disk(s) are patched, the intro is (still) very glitchy and not much is seen. Other patches (Princess Maker, Daisenryaku, Nyancle) from that site which I tested seems to work allright. So, is it only working with japanese version or is the patch corrupted or am I missing maybe something?
Yes, works very smooth, but I don't remember if my patched version is in spanish.
But I remember too some random hangs in the micro loads during the game. Better save the state often.
I just can't seem to get the intro of english version of Gazzel (ips patched) working with Sunrise CF on Turbo R GT using RUNIT.com running normally (as the game should) on R800 mode. Haven't checked it further than that. I tested it with both Fat16 and Fat12 partitions. So, I guess it's got something to do with english translation. I'll try the japanese version later. Anyone recall any problems with this translation on similar setup?
Better check with the original first, as IIRC, there are some issues in Gazzel when running from harddisk. It assumes that the disk drive takes a while to load stuff. This was also broken in emulators that didn't implement the disk delay.
He got that DSK from me, and I got it from the coder of runit who own a GT with a CF... On my 2+ it runs good from a CF... I've put this situation in a mail to the coder... Will hear from him as soon as he checked it out...
As Manuel says, it might do the trick to switch R800 off, but I think you don't want that in-game...
Edit: On 7MHz is goes horribly wrong as well in the intro demo from cf...
Reading this thread, it sounds like Xak1 works OK with Runit, but I'm having some problems. (Might be to do with my environment).
I'm using Runit on my Altera DE0's SD. I concatenated the disks, and Xak1 runs, and can change disks during the game.
I can save onto the user disk. But if I try to load the saved game, it crashes (resets the machine) when the game read the game disk after loading the save file. I've tried both methods of using 0 and .usr disk, and concatenating a user disk, both yieldsa same result.
Ys2 works. Although Ys2 freezed twice during play, but probably not a related problem.
I couldn't recreate the environment on the emulator (blue msx) as I couldn't work out how to make a HD image for sunrise ide etc. May be I can try to see if the same issue occurs in a real MSX machine.
I've tried Runit on a real machine (hb-f700). With sunrise cf, both xak and ys2 just freezes immediately after running runit.
That's weird... I never experienced that on my former Sony with CF and those games...
