Oh, Valis 2 runs fine with /R (R800) option, except for the demo, which goes way too fast. But the game does run somewhat smoother with it, so it's worth it, I guess.
Offtopic: Has anyone tried these games on rMSX?
Laydock uses basic files and is therefor not supported.
I will check out Hydefos hough as it should work
Is there a minimum amount of ram the MSX needs to have to be able to sue runit?
I have both a turbo-r and a 8220 expanded to 128kb; runit works fine on the TR but not on the 8220...
Konami GameCollections doesn't work. Some of them load the titlescreen but when you push space to play hangs.
I've never been a big fan of DSK images using on a real MSX and I'm still not. Certainly in combination with my Sunrise CF ATA-IDE interface, DSK images most of the time just don't seem to work. So I had my hopes for this 'new' 2.0 version, claiming that it should work with IDE/CF.
I tried to run the diskimage of the game 3 SQUARE on my real MSX it did not work, just like all the other diskimages I tried.
Do I have to take care off particulair or certain cirqumstances, like using directory's or things like that?

ps.
1) I use a NMS8245 with built in memorymapper 256k, slotexpander. The CF partition from where I've tested it is FAT12.
The DSK image is correct; tested on openMSX on my Mac where it -as always- works.
2) This is not a comment on RUNIT or the creators of RUNIT, I'm just wondering why I have so much problems with it.

Your setup is sufficient. That's not the problem. And you may use fat12 and/or fat16... whatever you like.
I don't know the game 3square, but I think this is not a sectorbased discgame. You can test it when you give "files" in basic or "dir" in dos. If you can see which files are on the disk this is not a sectorbased disc. Examples of sectorbased discgames are:
- Aleste 2
- Xak series
- Puyo Puyo
- Gorby's Pipeline
- Laydock 2
- Dragon Slayer 6
- SD Snatcher
Can you try one of the games mentioned above?
Oh and the main difference with the 1.x versions an 2.0 version is that the v2.0 is able to run Micro Cabin games (Xak series, Tower of Cabin, Great Strategy, Fray, etc etc...). Also there were some minor fixes for other games. All versions of RunIt work with IDE/CF and SCSI... even with some SD interfaces some users claim (but we didn't tested that, due to lack of a SD interface).
The fact a discimage works in an emulator on a Mac or PC doesn't tell you it wil work on the real thing also. Maybe something to implement in V3.0
No FM sound in Fray (msx2 version) and Dragon Slayer VI if I active R800 mode.
Thanx for the feedback
