Hello! I picked up an MSX, with Urusei Yatsura game as my username suggests, to try the system out. Except there's no cables...

If you have a power supply or know the specs to make one, I need it. Thanks. Smile

Same model and connector as seen in a topic here several years ago.

Have (sort of) the same problem - because I have original supply, but live in 230V AC country whereas supply wants 100~110V AC. I have an extra transformer for this, but it's a hassle to hook this all up (wall outlet -> transformer -> power brick -> HB-F1).

If you know to build/modify power supplies, you could replace original brick with one that's easier to find (like one with a simple DC plug), and then for example:

  • Put in 12V DC (regulated), and mod internal parts to convert some of that to +5V. Or
  • Put in 5V DC and mod internal parts to convert some of that to +12V. Or
  • Put in some AC voltage, and then sort of re-design the internal power supply circuitry.

You also need -12V but very little current (often no problem if missing). Main issues would be the small space inside & the design/test effort. On the flip side, the HB-F1 isn't a big machine so the power requirements are modest... Smile If I ever decide to mod my HB-F1 this way, I'll be sure to publish a how-to, but don't count on anything. Hannibal

Well what about the model number or Japanese search terms to use? I may be able to look around foreign websites for one that way.
