Image quality is better then with S-Video in on PC video card, but still sucks. It's because at the moment I use S-Video, and not the RGB input. With S-Video it all looks kind of blurry, just like on TV. But mode 80 is readable and in games this blurrines is only for the best.
I should build an RGB cable. As soon as I make one, then it will be about serious quality
Have you managed to build an RGB cable already? I'm really curious about this... I wonder if it's worth swapping my DISPL for the XRGB2++
Sorry dude, no time. I use my spare time for something much more exciting:

I might still play around with MSX some day. If I do, and I remember about this thread, I'll let you know the results.
Hmm you seem to playing around with MSX again these days, so...
I placed an order for XRGB2+ from Lik-Sang... Stay tuned for review!
In short: it's absolutely sweet! I had some hard time building RGB cable, because Japanese SCART pinout is wrong on both Ultimate MSX FAQ and gamesx.com. But once I built the cable, I hooked up a regular VGA monitor, and it was very clear, but too pixelated and not as brights as image on TV. But both issues are easily fixed via XRGB2+ OSD menu: pixelation is reduced by enabling scanlines at 3 out of 4 level, and brightnes / sharpnes can be tweaked as well. All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase. Mode 80 looks astonishing. You can read a whole hard cover book in this mode, and it will be really easy on your eyes
Now could someone kind please provide basic code to switch VDP from NTSC to PAL mode? I'd like to see how well XRGB2+ can handle PAL, if at all... Probably it's of interest to folks with Philips and Sony PAL computers.
In BASIC (works on MSX2, 2+ and turbo R) type:
VDP(10)=0 - 60 Hz NTSC
VDP(10)=2 - 50 Hz PAL
Heh...funny.... I deliberately put the noise over Bluemsx, since it resembles the msx screen I know better...for some reason I like the smoothing it does when u use composite video,I always had something against that supersharp view,it often tends to make stuff too squarish,it at least looks more natural...but that's my opinion.
And not just on MSX,when I look at pictures of the new tekken 5,I am at least happy to know that I won't be able to count the polygons on the tv screen...people don't have square legs or square fingers, and composite tends to blend this nicely....
Whew, thanks BodyHammeR! Now I know XRGB2+ can handle PAL 50Hz no problem. I'm getting a whole lot of various russian ZX Spectrum clones, and this is good news to me
