Solved it!

Here's what I did for anyone else needing to remove the SuperSoniqs mod.

Remove resistor from chip on C13
Remove wire (mine was yellow) from pin 1 of C13 (just cut it if you like)
Reconnect (solder) PIN1 of C13 to the board (if the pin was removed, like mine, use some wire)
Connect pins 2-3 on second Jumper (near the Eprom, just after it says '2 - 3 = 64kb')

Thats it, it should work with Bios V1.3 Smile

On your picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29029706@N06/7976691149/in/phot...

The 1st one is at the top, just to the left of C13:
3
2
1
There are boxes just to the right of the numbers. Yours is correct, it is set to 2-3 (see the wire)

The 2nd one is as stated above (see the box again labeled '3') just above pin 1 of the Eprom. You need to connect that to pin 2 just below it (I think its actually pin 1). I just used a bit of solder to 'jump' 2-3

Yes I do, leave that one alone. Just remove the other one (the one that goes from pin 1 of the eprom to pin 1 of C13). Looks like the wire was a mod by SuperSoniqs, bypassing the need to connect 2-3 and enabling the the co-existence of both msx audio bios & philips bios).

By removing the wire and jumping the actual board, this is going back to the way the board was designed to work. Big smile

The "loose yellow wire" that connects to the pin-9 of the Y8950 isn't part of the original upgrade.

I recommend you to contact SuperSoniqs and ask for instructions on how to properly remove the mod.

If you still want to compare, the original upgrade instructions are here, in Portuguese:

I have, no reply as yet. I'm sure what I've done is right though, but maybe I don't need the wire to pin 9.

The system no longer resets on set audio, set music (I know I don't need them as you said, but just a test just to see if it still reset the system as it did before). It now has music and sfx in Xevious, Dante 2, Gladius and Golvellious.

I'm going to remove that wire, then await their reply to see if what I did was right.

My board now looks exactly the same as the link you refer to...
(apart from jumping 2-3 near the eprom for 64k of course) oO

How do I test it fully mate?? Question

Update: works exactly the same with, or without the wire connected. I've opted to take it off as it's not in the original. I've looked at the diagrams and pictures and am sure it the same now SD_snatcher.

Is there a sure fire way of making sure it's working as it should??

anyone know a list of games that work with this Bios?
I know Aleste 2 doesn't work (not sure why?)
However (as mentioned above) a few of my games work fine:
Xevious, Dante 2, Gladius and Golvellious 2

I wanted to test this mod properly, so more examples would be great.....
