The MB62H168 is in pcb, inside floppy drive.

What about MB4107 VCO chip in V30F side. Is that normal design in msx floppy interfaces?

Similar design in yamaha Fd-03 or Philips Vg8230,8235 .
I would like to see the backside frame of the Canon without the covering white plate !

I asked Wouter to help and he took a look at that disk ROM dump. It seems it works totally different than this document describes. More details later when everything is sorted out.
Of course it is possible the drive of this prototype is connected in a (totally) different way than the final version, but it doesn't seem too likely. But we could confirm if we also get a ROM dump of the released/final V-30F.

May be this helps (based on the dumped V30F diskrom):
D.7FF8 EQU 07FF8H ; MB8877A
D.7FF9 EQU 07FF9H ; MB8877A
D.7FFA EQU 07FFAH ; MB8877A
D.7FFB EQU 07FFBH ; MB8877A
D.7FFC EQU 07FFCH ; drive control
; b1,b0 R/W drive select (0 = drive 0, 1 = drive 1, 3 = deselect drive)
; b2 R/W side select (0 = side 0, 1 = side 1)
; b3 R/W motor on (1 = motor on)
; b4 R disk changed (0 = changed)
; b5 R some sort of ready (1 = ready)
; b6 R DRQ (1 = DRQ)
; b7 R IRQ (1 = IRQ)

hardware registers are also available on page 2 (0BFF8H-0BFFCH)

The boot up screen shows 64KB VRAM as expected (and no password prompt), but how was the seller then showing that 128KB?

The cartridge ports works fine (seller said game not starting).
But the Fdd does not work:

The keyboard pinout is pin-compatible with National CF3000 keyboard. Keyboard cable must be inserted so that the cable key is facing up.

However the keyboard matrix for kana characters are not same as in keycaps vs printed on screen. And numeric keypad part matrix is not same.

Are you able to run some software on it? Maybe with the help of a mass storage cartridge?

We have added (preliminary) support for this machine to openMSX.
