Hello folks,

New to MSX and the forum, recently got a rebuilt/upgraded Panasonic FS-A1F (basically upgraded to MSX2+) and am enjoying the hell out of it. Funnest purchase I have made in years, this system had such an amazing library that is virtually unknown outside of Japan.

Anyway, I have been collecting some original games in box, but a lot of games are very hard to find even in Japan for a good price. Most sellers online will not even guarantee that the disks work, and won't even test them. Not a problem when there are DSK images available, since I can just write new floppies... but there are two games I would love to play but cannot find DSK images of:

- Exodus Ultima III (disk version)
* This is apparently pretty rare, but I have seen the game go up for sales on auctions, etc. It is closer to the original PC version, and graphics are similar to the Ultima I & II MSX remakes, as opposed to the ROM version which is identical to the Famicom game.
- Might & Magic Book One

TOSEC has Ultima I and IV (and I found a working image of II), and M&M Book Two, but not these two.

That infamous price gouger ( Wink ) Satopin has M&M up on Yahoo Auction but wants a typically ridiculous price, and I have have had bad experiences with him in the past and am not willing to risk the cash based on that.

If there are DSK images available for these two games, please let me know! I could then buy the original copies for the manuals/box etc., without having to worry if the original disks work or not.

Thank you in advance!

If you ever see that Ultima Exodus disk edition up at auctions, I'd like to know, so I can at least see some proof it exists Tongue

Thank you for the reply!

No auctions, but here is a site that recently had the FD version up for sale. Sadly they are out of stock, or I would jump at the price...

http://210.173.241.222/shop/shop.cgi?order=3069%2C%2C%3A1!7129%2C%2C%3A2%2C!8298%2C%2C%3A1&class=0%2F17&keyword=&FF=0&price_sort=&pic_only=&mode=p_wide&id=11932&superkey=1&back=

Image is a little blurry, but you can clearly see the 3.5 disk image, and "FD MSX" Series below that on the spine.

For what it's worth, Ultima III MSX DISK also shows up on Pony Canyon's Japanese Wikipedia page as published in 1989.

So, have you ever seen the front/back cover of Ultima II? (I really wonder what its product code is too!)

Thanks, Mars!

Randam, thanks!
- the Comptiq ROM version is listed: http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/comptiq/bc-ii---grogs-...
- Listed, see http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/champion-soft/tumego-1...
- Do you know if it's related to http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/oak/three-years-comput... ?
- Interesting, a Japanese version of the box :)
- Nice, a collection of several games. Do you see who is the publisher of this collection?
- Isn't the right game Pyramid Sorcerian? See http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/brother-industries/pyr...
- Which one(s) do you mean?
- Isn't that just http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/hard/kudokikata-oshiem... ?

1: overlooked the rom version but still that one has box art
2: incomplete title made me not find it: 関西棋院監修 詰碁120
3: that title I don't know but indeed related since same company
4: indeed nice Smile
5: 4 of the tapes have the name Apollo Technica on it so that sounds plausible. the 5th is rabbian in there and the last is river chase . I saw that package once with all similar fronts once so those last two don't have the proper fronts but are the correct games
6. I looked too quickly; it is the combined package of http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/brother-industries/sen... that has not much info listed and for which the sound is incorrect (it supports msx music). Any idea why none of the sorcerian games have turbo r listed since they natively support turbo mode?
7. version 2 番外Ⅱ is not listed, the version 2 that is listed has the wrong number of disks (should be 2) and that is true for 3 as wel (2 disks). Perhaps more info missing on gen msx.
8. Japanese title wasn't recognized so couldn't find it, but yeah it is

http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/187190926 Gramcats 1 and 2 have MSX Music and number 2 has only 5 disks.

http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f97236813 Quinpl disk version has sram save function too.

http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f138810405 has MSX music and is on 2 disks

http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h195370876 has sram save

1. OK, I'll try to add it, but it's a bit painful (you can't just save the images)
2. What should be the title?
3. Can you extract the information of this new entry, so I can properly enter it?
4. See 1.
5. I'll add it
6. All of these titles should have turboR and all support MSX-MUSIC?
7. Which games are this anyway? Please help a bit more, I'm a bit clueless on this one.
8. Added the missing centered dot.

Gram Cats 2 fixed.

1 and 4: ah didn't know adding just pics was a pain. Then leave it as is.
2: 関西棋院監修 詰碁120
3: パソコン算数学習 図形編 Personal Computer Mathematics learning Shapes edition (it's from the perfect lesson series, probably the other ones are also from that series) by Oak. It's not on Tagoo. It has 1 tape. It is educational software. costs 4500 yen. It's msx1. Perhaps there is a product code in the lower left corner on the back but a bit low res.
6: Yeah all Sorcerian games and add ons have native turbo r support and MSX-MUSIC
7: are 4 games 3 of which are already listed with partial info
天使たちの午後 Afternoon Angels, Rom version. Already listed
天使たちの午後Ⅱ-美奈子- Afternoon Angels 2, 2 disks instead of 3
天使たちの午後Ⅱ 番外Ⅱ Afternoon Angels 2, not listed, 2 disks, http://msx.jpn.org/tagoo/s_check.cgi?LINE=2063 for more info since picture is low res.
天使たちの午後Ⅲ-リボン- Afternoon Angels 3 Ribbon, 2 disks instead of 3 http://msx.jpn.org/tagoo/s_check.cgi?LINE=2064 for more info since picture is low res
Missing from that set is http://msx.jpn.org/tagoo/s_check.cgi?LINE=1323 which is not on generation msx.

All of them are by Jast and same game types and all except the first game are msx 2 games.
