There's also an Aackosoft version on the site I mentioned bedore (MSX cintas), but without the intro screen .. . and this version is working like a charm !

Maybe 'mixing' both versions could help to fix the issue with the more recent dump ... Tip: Use MSXtaper to extract the files and find out which one is bad Smile

Good idea. I may well use cas2wav to look at the cintas and the tosec and compare it to this wav. I'll also just check if the wav itself loads on a real MSX.

EDIT: Managed to create a cas that works on a real MSX. Specifically my Toshiba HX-10.
It's the same as the Tosec and Cintas versions except for saying "One player version" at the start loading screen and having a second loading screen.

To do this I used Goldwav to maximise the volume, and then saved as an 8-bit mono wav. Using wav2cas I just straight converted it.

And does that WAV work on openMSX?

I don't know if the wav does but the .cas file works on real MSX.

To the OP. Does the other side of the tape have the two player version on it? At the moment your wav just contains the one player version of the game.

How do you run the CAS file on a real MSX, exactly?

The wav gives 'direct statement in file' in openMSX, the cas works.

I used my Casduino project. An MSX specific version of my Arduitape that plays .CAS files without the need for conversion to .wav.

so, basically wav->cas->wav. Cleaning up the wav probably helps a lot. Anyway, can you try if the original wav works on the real MSX?

No. Wav to cas to audible sound. The original wav doesn't work as the volume is too low on the recording. The wav in the zip file I linked too should though.

I consider WAV the same as audible sound, but then in some file format Smile

Did you try the WAV in the zip file you linked to with the real MSX? If not, please do so.

Thanks for this, finally found it. It ran ok but on game over the game just froze? (with a circular missile on a blue background) is anyone else getting this?
