Louthrax: Sorry, "restored" then! Thanks. Will try them straight away.
OK, the first .wav of Louthrax's restore works! I get to the level selection menu! Thanks!

No pb (that was just for people classifying ROMs between "patched", "hacked" & "original" versions, like the TOSEC namings).
Let me know if you see problems with levels "The stardrive" and "Laser platoon". I've played them a few times, but... they are quite hard, so I've not been able to test victory yet
I wasn't able to load any leves, sadly. Tried Loader then level 1. No luck. The I reset, reload the loader, and tried level 2. But had no luck ether.
Hi msxski,
Which MSX configuration do you use ? What happens after you select the level ? If the game gets stuck, that might be because of this bug.
Hi. I was trying on an MSX2. (Yamaha AX350II https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sakhr_AX-350II )
When I select the level, it goes to load mode, and everything seems fine. But when playing back the level wav-files, my smartphone stops playing the wav around 32 seconds in. This happened on both level 1 and 2.
Would it be possible to put your version on a disk, like the guy who translated the italian version? Then I could try loading it from MFR SCC+ SD.
Try the latest version, your problem looks like the mapper bug.
Disk version should see the light next week.
Hi Louthrax,
Have you tried to generate a TSX file with all both MSX and TZX blocks?
I'm too interested in tapes recovery and preservation.
Hi NataliaPC,
I have uploaded a WAV version of a protected Zanac-Ex tape to the root directory of the FTP (opencomputer.ddns.net). It seems that MakeTSX has some problem to rip it. The WAV runs perfectly on OpenMSX as well as on real machines.
The WAV was created with a copy tool called Intermega, developed and used in Argentina in the late 80's to protect tapes. When BLOAD"CAS:",R is executed, a special game loader is read first, which continues loading the actual game. In other words, after the loader, the actual game binary files (with their respective headers) come all encrypted. So, you should not be expecting regular headers that indicate a LOAD, BLOAD, or CLOAD file.
I had a quick look at the TSX file, and it seems that only the loader is ripped successfully. I hope it helps.
Cheers,
S

Check your Uploads directory for "Laser Squad plus Expansion Pack [Target Games][Blade Software][1988][0.8b].zip". Conversion worked fine from the "cleaned" WAV files I made here last year, not so well with the original tape WAV files (I do not remember exactly how I fixed or cleaned this at the time). I can send you this original WAV file if you want to have fun with it.
