Hey tfh, sorry for the late reply.
Thanks for your response, no problem
I guess some other factors also contributed to my annoyance.
Regarding the redirects: I thought the reasoning would be like you're explaining.
Now the games all reside under index.php?id=gamename
. Not very ugly, but it isn't really pretty either
I guess you mean the new id's don't match the old URL's .html file name? You could use a 'mapping' array then. Using a rewrite rule you could pass the part of the request URI between MSX/
and .html
to index.php (or another PHP file).
But hey, it's all hobby stuff, so we should take it easy
(ps. and why isn't Pyramid Warp on your site yet?? ;))
No Problem :-) It's only good to voice your concerns. Just glad all is fine (now).
As for the URL's: I might take a loon into that later :) It's indeed a hobby project and I'm actuallu quite happy with how it works now.
As for Pyramid Warp: Your request is my demand: http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=pyramidwarp
Have phun! :)
Cool Alibaba and 40 Thieves is essential as well actually.. ;)
And may I request Doki Doki Penguin Land ?
cool code rewrite!
Am I the only one thinking Chuckie egg should be listed too?
LoL.. Really? Well:
http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=alibaba
http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=chuckieegg
http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=dokidokipenguinland
Ali Baba is really bad (in my opinion). Chuckie Egg, well...
Doki Doki is actually quite funny. I had never played it before (as far as I can remember though)
BTW,
Also finished another small project on the site: I was using quite some "borrowed" screenshots from various sites (Mostly Generation-MSX though.) In the last few days they have all been replaced by new screenshots.
Hey! Be careful bad-mouthing the mighty Ali Baba! 1983/1984 was where it was at jongen..
Ever felt the satisfaction of becoming GIANT Ali Baba and be crushin' those thieves?
Chuckie Egg is pretty cool as well I must concur (kinda of a classic now), got it on a compilation disk, one of the first games we owned/played, though I did find it pretty lame at the time..
I did miss Ali Baba for 30 years, until I did a gaming night with Mi-Chi few weeks ago. It is a fun game with gorgeous player control. A vice versa PacMan clone in a good way. Even better than Munchkin on the G7000.
Ali Baba is a cool game ! Funny to still find such cool games from so long ago.
There is also another great Penguin game missing: Penguin Kun wars 2
And btw, I think in a game of strip poker, the opponent is supposed to start dressed somewhat warmer
Alibaba always had an interesting 'soundtrack' of course, but WebMSX makes it actually painful!

Then you haven't heard Chuckie Egg yet ;-)
I've opened up an issue for the WebMSX developer about this.

OK, here it is: Penguin-Kun Wars 2 (English)
And btw, I think in a game of strip poker, the opponent is supposed to start dressed somewhat warmer :)
Of course you are right. But I really don't mind in this case :)
